Today I finished the illustrations for a short story. Started and finished this week, 6 illustrations. Its been a lot of fast paced work but I'm very pleased with the results. Soon I complete my internship and will be starting full time at M4 and I'm looking forward to it!

Today we had video conferences with project leads and discussed plans going forward. I continued my work on the short story illustrations and helped design a logo for a soap brand which presented its own unique challenges. Trey, my supervisor, clued me in to a neat feature of illustrator that allows me to free draw and turns my lines into clean vectors - ideal for logo concepts.

My focus has switched gears after completing the illustrations needed for the EFY music program and now I am working on illustrating a short motivational story which I also authored for the development of an online course based in Utah. The online course however will allow national access in addition to the locally based in person classes. This process started with the approval of storyboards by Launching Leaders project leads. I am now turning these storyboards into finished illustrations. There are talks that I, being the author, will narrate the story even.

We've called in one of the people who is represented in the book and had them pose for reference photos to help with the appropriate illustration. There's been some switching gears to do artwork for other projects which has been a real treat. An image for a leadership training book allowed me to get creative in expressing principles of success in a illustrated diagram of sorts. In addition I've been helping with some logo design for a publishing company. Variety is the spice of life.

Today we stepped back and took a look at where we are with the book. We are now working on a shared indesign file with the text and illustrations all together. We're looking for a limited printing release next month and with 7 or so illustrations to go we should be finishing up just in time.
